Elvis – A Legendary Performer Vol. 2
This was the second deluxe Legendary Performer package compiled by Joan Deary in a format that gave Elvis’ present no chance against his past. Once again a combination of well-known (and well-loved) masters, some rarities, and a collectable souvenir book was enhanced by a newly discovered Sun recording of “Harbor Lights,” very likely the very first song put on tape at Elvis’ first recording session in 1954. Initial sales of 600,000 copies put this compilation in rarefied commercial territory – and with no artist’s royalties due.
