Having stuck to his guns for six months, Colonel Parker was at last persuaded to relent on the soundtrack issue. The movie album (with only one previously unreleased track, “Steadfast, Loyal And True”) sold an impressive 250,000 copies, despite the fact that two million records incorporating ten of the eleven songs on the album had already been sold.
