NEW ELVIS OFFERINGS PART OF AN UNPRECEDENTED COLLABORATION TO CELEBRATE THE MUSIC AND LEGACY OF ELVIS PRESLEY
New York, NY - Continuing in the tradition established by the King of Rock n Roll(TM) himself, the new "ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS" double CD and DVD have scored an impressive foothold on the Billboard charts. The "ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS" CD is perched comfortably in the Billboard Top 200, having debuted at #15, and subsequently moving to #19 and now #23 on the album chart -- it also holds the #2 spot on the Soundtrack chart this week, having peaked at #1 last week - and to date, the CD has sold more than 132,000 copies. While the eponymous DVD, the expanded version of the highly rated CBS special, debuted at #1 on the comprehensive music video charts, selling 54,339 copies.
The numbers continue to be great across the board for all the components of an exciting cross- platform, integrated media campaign. The CBS special "ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS" received an 8.1 rating and a 15 share, winning its time slot and was seen by nearly 12 million viewers. The companion book published by Crown Publishers, also titled ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS debuted at #7 on the New York Times Bestseller list.
The two-disc CD "ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS" contains 32 tracks including number one hits "In The Ghetto," "Suspicious Minds," and "Heartbreak Hotel," legendary gems like "Trouble" and "Always On My Mind," and the new classic "A Little Less Conversation" which put Elvis back on top of the charts in 2002. The rarities disc includes previously unreleased private recordings and Elvis at work in the studio recording "Jailhouse Rock" and "Too Much Monkey Business."
The "ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS" DVD is a two-disc set with more than four hours of content and bonus features, much of it previously unreleased. The "ELVIS BY THE PRESLEYS" DVD expands on the 2005 CBS network television special which offered a rare, timeless look into the private life of Elvis Presley and his family as well as the career of one of the entertainment industry's most legendary figures. For the first time, Priscilla, Lisa Marie and other family members freely share their own stories, emotions and intimate memories on camera, and reveal home-movie footage of Elvis never before shared with his fans. This two-disc set also includes live performance footage from every stage of Elvis's career, plus clips from newsreels, interviews, film and TV appearances.
