The first in a lucrative new four-movie deal with MGM placed Elvis at the World’s Fair in Seattle. Originally a deluxe-priced gatefold sleeve album was planned, but with just ten songs and barely twenty minutes of music, plus the relative failure of the advance single, packaging and retail price were scaled back, and sales amounted to little more than half of those for Girls!
